How the practice works
Teams inventory shared spaces by purpose, owner and actual use. Overlapping spaces are consolidated with a clear destination for files and decisions. The exercise includes the migration itself, since a newly simplified structure can otherwise begin with several months of duplicated activity.

A working example
A project uses a chat channel, shared folder and mailing list for the same decisions. The team chooses where decisions will be recorded and explains the roles of the other spaces. It does not assume that deleting a channel also transfers its contents.
