More than a century of becoming Usual.
Usual Industries did not become Usual Industries all at once.

1908–1959: The Early Years
The businesses that would eventually become Usual established operations throughout North America. Corporate records from this period are incomplete.
1960–1989: Expansion
A period of sustained expansion added new businesses, capabilities, locations and several floors. Many of the organizational structures established during this period remain in place.
1990–2009: Building the Modern Usual
Usual accelerated its acquisition strategy, adding Bexler Corporation, North Meridian Group, Standard Consolidated, Wexford International and Porter-Lane. Integration activities commenced following each transaction. Several remain underway.
2010–Present: One Usual
Under Mr Biggs, Usual has continued to reshape its portfolio through disciplined acquisitions and divestitures. Mr Biggs is known within the organization for moving quickly when strategic opportunities arise. The Legal Department is known for moving quickly immediately afterward.
Our Acquisition Philosophy
Usual looks for organizations with strong people, complementary capabilities and the potential to contribute to long-term shareholder value. Acquired companies generally progress through four phases: Welcome, Integration, Strategic Review and Continuing Integration. A fifth phase, Divestiture, is used when appropriate.
