How the practice works
Procurement reconciles supplier names, legal entities, purchase records and service owners. A shared name is not always a shared contract, and two names may describe the same relationship. The inventory therefore records the evidence behind each consolidation.
- 01Supplier
- 02Contracting entity
- 03Service owner
- 04Related records
A working example
A supplier appears under three abbreviations and two acquired-company records. Combining the records reveals related spending without erasing differences in scope or contracting entity. The program can then consider a commercial change rather than merely presenting a larger number.
