Legacy Environment Inventory

Knowing what is present before deciding what is obsolete.

Program approach

The inventory identifies systems, interfaces, owners and active uses. Age alone does not determine importance. A small older application may support a dependency that has disappeared from the current architecture presentation but remains very present at month end.

The working record
  1. 01System
  2. 02Use
  3. 03Interface
  4. 04Owner

Delivery example

A proposed retirement affects a report used by another service. The inventory identifies that dependency and its receiving owner. The retirement proceeds with a replacement path rather than relying on the absence of recent complaints.
