How the practice works
A directional recommendation identifies the current preference, the evidence behind it and what remains to be confirmed. It supports focused work without pretending to be an unconditional approval. The distinction is recorded where delivery teams can find it.
- 01Preference
- 02Supporting evidence
- 03Open conditions
- 04Permitted next step
A working example
A platform review selects a preferred ecosystem while regional coverage remains under assessment. The team investigates the gaps and returns for the final decision. A vendor announcement does not precede that decision merely because the recommendation sounded enthusiastic.
