The One Front Door, Many Corridors Model

A common entrance for services that continue to operate differently behind it.

The model

The model separates the public entry, routing rules, service ownership and resolution path. A common front door can be useful before every underlying system is integrated. It becomes misleading when the welcome page suggests that no corridors remain.

In practice

Two acquired businesses share a new request form. A customer enters once, but the request still needs a clear owner and a traceable handoff. The model follows the request beyond the confirmation email, where several earlier maps had ended. The service is judged by whether a customer reaches someone who can act, not by how confidently the entrance describes the journey.
