The observation
Organizations invest considerable effort in mobilizing work and comparatively little in ending it. A program develops meetings, records and roles that can continue after the result is accepted. The remaining enhancement list then supplies a reason to preserve the entire structure.
- 01Accepted result
- 02Operational ownership
- 03Residual tasks
- 04Retired structure
What follows
A deliberate closure transfers service ownership, records residual work and retires the temporary arrangements. Improvement continues through the normal operating route. The program ends because its purpose has been met, not because the organization has run out of possible future ideas. A failed attempt can become useful evidence, provided the team resists relaunching it under a new name before recording what failed.
