The observation
Workarounds often begin with initiative and detailed local knowledge. They keep work moving where formal arrangements are incomplete. Over time, their success can make the underlying weakness less visible while increasing dependence on a person or tool that remains outside the support model.

What follows
The responsible response is to understand what the workaround accomplishes, then decide how to preserve or replace that contribution. Simply prohibiting it may remove the only working part of the process. Simply praising it may leave its creator with a permanent unpaid support role.
