The tournament record
Selected milestones from a competition with a well-developed memory.
Founding milestones
The inaugural outing took place in 1989. The Chairman’s Cup was introduced in 1990, and the event adopted a unified registration process in 2004. Earlier records survive in a mixture of club files, photographs and correspondence from people who remain confident about their finish.
The current benchmark
The 2026 published field contains six teams. Strategic Accounts won with 46 points, ahead of the Office of the Chairman on 44. These are edition results, not an all-time course record. Comparing totals across changing allowances and tournament formats would create more precision than the archive can support.
The unresolved chapter
The 1997 classification remains provisional. The surviving documents disagree on a countback and agree on the quality of lunch. The committee has retained both findings. Further submissions are welcomed only where they contain something other than a recollection of who was standing nearest the trophy.
