Client will be preferred in advisory materials under updated language guidance.
Terminology update
Customer remains appropriate for transactional relationships, while several businesses have requested examples for relationships they consider both. The Language Council will provide those examples after reviewing whether the distinction improves understanding outside the organization as much as it improves consistency inside it.
