The introduction
Each colleague selected a personal fact and explained what it revealed about their approach to work. A finance manager selected gardening, then spent his allotted minute describing how he had reduced expenditure on plants. The facilitator asked whether there was also a connection to growth.
The report-back
Table spokespeople introduced their colleagues using worksheet summaries. One colleague learned that her interest in taking long walks had been recorded as comfort with ambiguity. She requested a correction. The spokesperson agreed to retain the walking while reconsidering the ambiguity.
The improvement
The next edition removed the requirement to draw a work lesson from every personal interest. The worksheet still asked what the experience meant for the colleague’s development, but the response became optional. Attendance continued to be recorded.
