The Enterprise Modified Stableford Scramble
A team format with enough structure to sustain a rules briefing.
One team, one score
Four players tee off, select a ball and all play their next shot from that position. This continues until the hole is completed. Each player must contribute at least three selected tee shots over eighteen holes. The team records one gross score per hole and identifies whose tee shot was used.
How points are calculated
The committee assigns a team allowance before play and marks any handicap strokes on the card. Net par earns two points, net birdie three, net eagle four, net bogey one and net double bogey or worse zero. Eighteen net pars therefore produce 36 points. Allowances are fixed once play starts; seniority is not an additional stroke.
Resolving the close ones
Ties are settled by points on the final nine, then final six, final three and eighteenth hole. A remaining tie shares the position. Scorecards require two signatures. Questions raised after the presentation are recorded in the tournament learning log, which has a longer history than several winning teams.
